At his final pre-match presser ahead of Friday's training session, BVB trainer Edin Terzic revealed that left-back Raphaël Guerreiro will have to sit the weekend encounter out with muscular problems. The Portuguese fullback must return to the sidelines after starting seven consecutive matches. Guerreiro had been in good form, garnering two assists against Stuttgart last weekend.
It is such that either Marius Wolf, Thorgan Hazard, or the young Tom Rothe will get the start against the German Eagles. Insofar as squad captain Marco Reus' availability is concerned, Terzic cast doubt on the skipper's ability to start. After making a substitute appearance in the 0-2 loss to Union Berlin on matchday 10, Reus has had to sit out the past three Dortmund fixtures.
"We're a tad concerned about this [foot injury] becoming something that keeps him out long term," Terzic said of his captain, "He's on the road to recovery. He will be with us on the [training] pitch today. We'll decide after today's scrimmage if he has enough for the matchday squad."
This being a Dortmund away match, Germany's Ruhrnachrichten Zeitung will provide a full report on which BVB players travel with the squad later in the day. The RN generally publishes the list of players en-route just after the Dortmund bus leaves Signal Iduna.
