Kicker Report: Possible Thuram replacement en route to Gladbach
German journalist Jan Lusting of the Bundesrepublik's preeminent footballing publication reports that Czech striker Tomas Cvancara may be headed to Mönchengladbach for a medical.
A short time after unveiling their replacement for the departed Jonas Hofmann, Borussia Mönchengladbach may be in the process of finally securing a replacement for departed lead-striker Marcus Thuram. German journalist Jan Lusting of Germany's Kicker Magazine reports that Czech striker Tomas Cvancara has left Sparta Prauge's training camp ahead of a move to a new club.
The recently capped Czech senior international just wrapped up a successful season with the Czech First League Champions in which he scored 15 goals and pocketed five assists in 30 appearances across all competitions. Cvancara also scored his first national team goal three minutes into his first cap.
Lustig cites previous links between Cvancara and Gladbach, along with his own sources, to claim that the 22-year-old may be headed north from his club's training camp in Austria to North Rhine Westphalia. The €4-million-valued forward could be presented as early as this weekend after a passed medical.
