Hertha BSC have secured the acquisition of German World Cup winner Sami Khedira on a permanent deal from Juventus.

"With Sami Khedira, we get a top player who has been under contract with top European clubs in recent years and will immediately help us with his experience from his games in the Champions League, Serie A, La Liga and also with the national team at World and European Championships," said Hertha BSC sporting director Arne Friedrich.

Khedira, 33, commented:

"Hertha BSC have made a great effort to sign me and are offering me the opportunity to return to the Bundesliga. I'm grateful for that and honestly can't wait to be on the pitch for the first time in the blue and white shirt."

Khedira's contract with Juventus was due to expire at the end of the season. He hasn't made a single appearance for the Italian champions this season.
