Atlético Madrid have emerged as front runners to sign Jonas Hofmann from Borussia Mönchengladbach, according to Sport Bild.

The Spanish capital club have expressed interest in Hofmann, as per the report, which claims Hofmann would cost around €15 million.

Chelsea and Tottenham are said to be keeping tabs on the 28-year-old attacking midfielder as well.

Gladbach sporting director Max Eberl has hinted that the club might have to sell at least one of their top performers to be able to fund moves for new players.

"We're known for wanting and needing to make do with our income," he told Sport Bild.

Hofmann featured 33 times for Gladbach through the 2020/21 season, racking up eight goals and 13 assists.
