Danny Röhl and Marcus Sorg will work as assistants to new Germany coach Hansi Flick, the German Football Association (DFB) has confirmed in a statement.

"I am very pleased that Danny Röhl is joining the national team and the DFB. I worked very successfully and trustingly with him at FC Bayern for almost two years. I value Danny as an absolute professional who shares my vision and ideas about football," said Flick and added:

"The same goes for Marcus Sorg, who I know well from our years together at the DFB. I'm very happy to have Danny Röhl and Marcus Sorg as two proven experts at my side for the upcoming big tasks with the national team."

In the same statement, the DFB announced that Andreas Köpke will step back after 17 years as goalkeeping coach.

"I am very grateful for an incredibly intensive and successful time alongside Jürgen Klinsmann and Joachim Löw," said Köpke.

"I'm convinced that Hansi Flick will build on this and get the national team back on track for success. This also requires new impetus, which is why I have decided to step back. I wish Hansi and his team all the best and much success for the tasks ahead."

Köpke's successor will be announced at a later date.
