After defeat in their first two matches of the 2.Bundesliga and a DfB-Pokal collapse against fourth-tier Illertissen (3-3, 5-6 on penalties) - Miroslav Klose seems to be under pressure.

However, Nürnberg sporting director Joti Chatzialexiou has now commented on the potential coaching issue and cooled doubts about 47-year-old's position for the time being.

"You can refer back to my answers from last season. We don't have a discussion about the coach. Miroslav Klose is and remains the right coach for us and has our full confidence.

"We had a difficult start last season [2024/25] as well and only recovered after a few matchdays because the team needed to get into the swing of things.

"We've had a major upheaval again this time. That's why I won't question everything after the second matchday, excluding the cup game because that shouldn't happen to a second-division team.

"We're all dissatisfied. The players aren't [happy] either. So the mood is subdued everywhere. Nevertheless, we have a motto at FCN: Get up and keep going," he told Sport BILD.

Klose and Nürnberg now face an away game at Preußen Münster (August 22) and a home game against SC Paderborn (August 29) before the international break arrives.
