Martijn Kaars has completed a move from FC Magdeburg to FC St. Pauli, the Bundesliga club confirmed late on Thursday evening.

The details of the transfer, including the length of the 26-year-old Dutch striker’s contract, have not been disclosed.

“Martijn Kaars is a versatile striker who's exactly the kind of player we were looking for. He's already demonstrated his qualities as a centre-forward but also carries a threat down the flanks. He also offers an exciting combination of pace and high-intensity runs and is a good finisher,” said St. Pauli director of sport Andreas Bornemann.

Kaars, who has already scored three goals in four games for Magdeburg this season, added:

"After a successful and enjoyable time at Magdeburg, I'd like to take on the next challenge – the Bundesliga with FC St. Pauli. The talks with the club officials convinced me that St. Pauli's high-intensity style of play and my qualities go together very well. I'd like to prove myself in the Bundesliga and help my new team, preferably straightaway."
