St. Pauli set to sign Bielefeld defender

FC St. Pauli look set to complete the signing of Louis Oppie from Arminia Bielefeld.

Having sold Philipp Treu to Freiburg for a record-breaking €5.5 million, FC St. Pauli appear to have found his replacement.

According to Hamburger Morgenpost, the ‘Kiezkicker’ are set to sign Arminia Bielefeld left-back Louis Oppie, who has also been linked with 1. FC Union Berlin.

The transfer could be completed as soon as Friday, with Westfalen-Blatt reporting that Oppie has been released to negotiate with his new club.

The 23-year-old comes off an impressive season with Arminia Bielefeld, who secured promotion to the 2. Bundesliga. 

In 37 league appearances, he scored three goals and provided nine assists.
