Hamburger SV have recently been linked with a move for RB Leipzig striker Yussuf Poulsen.

And as the newly-promoted Bundesliga club’s sporting director, Stefan Kuntz, revealed at a press conference on Thursday, the deal is nearing completion.

“Things are looking pretty good. I’ll put it cautiously: We’re on the home stretch,” Kuntz said.

He added that although “a few people have stumbled just before the finish line,” he is optimistic of getting the deal done.

“It’s a matter of three, four, five days,” he said.

The 31-year-old Danish striker, who is RB Leipzig’s record appearance-maker, has one year left on his contract.
