West Ham and Germany forward Niclas Füllkrug has expressed his general willingness to join VfL Wolfsburg in the winter transfer window, according to Kicker.

Füllkrug is looking to leave West Ham in order to secure regular playing time ahead of the World Cup.

The report suggests that Die Wölfe are “seriously considering” signing the 32-year-old, as they are in need of a striker with experience, and ideally someone who has already played in the Bundesliga. A loan deal with an option to buy is reportedly under consideration.

According to reports, Augsburg and Eintracht Frankfurt have withdrawn from the race for the striker.

While Hoffenheim and Stuttgart have also been linked with a move for Füllkrug, Wolfsburg appear to have taken the lead, although talks are not yet far advanced.
