Woltemade addresses transfer rumors as Chelsea reportedly join race

Speaking after his hat-trick against Slovenia at the U21 European Championship, VfB Stuttgart striker Nick Woltemade addressed growing interest in his services amid reports that Chelsea have entered the race for his signature.

Speculation has linked Nick Woltemade with a move away from VfB Stuttgart following a sensational 2024/25 campaign.

Heading into Germany’s U21 Euro opener against Slovenia on Thursday, reports emerged that Chelsea had entered the race for the towering striker.

And the 23-year-old did little to quiet the speculation, netting a hat-trick in Germany’s commanding 3-0 victory.

Speaking to Bild after the match, Woltemade responded to the growing interest from top clubs:

“I think that’s just part of it. It wouldn’t be good scouting if a club didn’t have me on their radar right now.”

When pressed on the reported interest from Chelsea, he added:

“I’m not thinking about my future at the moment. I’m with the U21 national team now, I’m having a lot of fun, and I just scored three goals.”

That very performance, however, is only likely to fuel further interest from England and potentially alert more top clubs across Europe.

VfB Stuttgart sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth recently praised the forward, saying:

“Nick’s quality and the Stuttgart environment clearly form an extremely strong bond - one whose power is far from exhausted.”

With Woltemade under contract until 2028 and no release clause in place, any club hoping to land him will need to submit a substantial offer to convince the Bundesliga side to sell.
