Bayern Munich line up compatriot as Palhinha replacement

Die Rekordmeister could be shipping one Portuguese midfielder out for another this summer.

After a disappointing first season with Bayern Munich, it appears as if João Palhinha could be heading for the exit door.

Questions were asked if Bayern could recoup some money for the 30-year-old and it appears they might with Tottenham Hotspur interested.

In any case Palhinha is sold, BILD's Christian Falk believes that the reigning Bundesliga champions have a replacement lined up.

Palhinha's compatriot - Renato Veiga - is capable of playing in defensive midfield as well as left-back and centre-back.

Veiga, who impressed on loan at Juventus last season, could reportedly leave his parent club Chelsea for an offer of €35million.

However, it must also be noted that Sky Germany highlighted Atlético Madrid's interest in the 21-year-old talent.
