Borussia Dortmund are looking to contact Chelsea about the possibility of keeping Carney Chukwuemeka beyond the end of his current loan spell, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The 21-year-old midfielder’s loan expires in the summer, but Dortmund are hopeful of keeping him beyond the end of the season.

The club could seek to extend the loan for another year or make the move permanent, provided they qualify for the Champions League and secure the necessary financial resources to turn the loan move into a permanent one.

Dortmund have a purchase option set between €30-35 million to sign Chukwuemeka permanently.

After an injury-plagued start to his time at Dortmund, Chukwuemeka has impressed in recent weeks, proving his worth to the Black and Yellows.
