Ex-Freiburg striker Michael Gregoritsch is apparently on the verge of returning to the Bundesliga after only about half a year away.

According to information from Sky Germany, an unnamed club from the topflight is in advanced negotiations regarding a transfer.

What is known is that several Bundesliga teams are looking for a new striker, including Gregoritsch's former club, Hamburger SV.

According to DeichStube, the trail to Werder Bremen – who are also working on a loan deal for Damion Downs – is not currently promising.

In the summer before the 2014-25 campaign started, Gregoritsch moved from SC Freiburg to Danish first division club Brøndby IF.

However, the Austrian, who hopes to participate in the upcoming World Cup, is not getting the playing time he would like.
