Sat third in the Bundesliga standings and progressing nicely in the DFB-Pokal, Jonas Hofmann has set Bayer Leverkusen's goals for 2026.

“The goal should be to finish in the top four in the league. Many would agree with that. We're in the quarterfinals of the cup.

“That's just two more games until Berlin, and that's where we want to be again,” the veteran attacking midfielder told BILD.

Regarding the ambitions if Kasper Hjulmand's team in Europe, Hofmann is content with their progress but urged caution too.

"In the Champions League, we have a good chance of reaching the playoffs. We've shown that we're capable of a lot this year.

“But you can also see that if we let up a bit – like in the 2-0 loss in Augsburg – you can get completely thrashed,” the 33-year-old said.

The Rhinelanders return to action in 2026 for the first time when they take on VfB Stuttgart in the Bundesliga this coming Saturday evening.0
