Yussuf Poulsen never got his fitting farewell from RB Leipzig last season, but the Hamburger SV striker is looking forward to facing his old club.

"Those were twelve outstanding years. We experienced many great moments and met many wonderful people. It's difficult to pick out one special moment.

"But the two promotions are my priority because they were the first building blocks of my career – and very important to me as a person and a player," he told Sport BILD.

Now an experienced 31-year-old marksman approaching the twilight of his career, the Danish star is keen to offer his knowledge to younger colleagues.

"I'm trying to pass on my experiences and be a role model. I want to demonstrate my professionalism so that my teammates see that I'm just as hungry as they are.

“Because I didn't come to Hamburg to end my career, but because I want to achieve something with the team at HSV,” Poulsen explained.
