After five years at Bayern Munich, Leroy Sané moved to Galatasaray on a three-year contract last summer.

In an interview with Kicker, the 29-year-old now reveals that he could imagine returning to the club where it all started for him – Schalke 04 –before his career ends.

“I think maybe playing for Schalke again at the end would be exciting,” Sané said.

“It’s always been incredible here. The atmosphere has always been amazing, always a great feeling. That’s why I’m very open to it. It would be a great story.”

However, a return isn’t likely to happen in the next few years.

“I still have some time; I’m not 30 yet," stressed Sané.

When Sané played for Schalke 04, the club played European football. Since then, however, things have gone in the wrong direction, and The Royal Blues are now in the 2. Bundesliga.
