Report: Frankfurt can buy in-form striker for just €6 million
The in-form Luka Jovic will only cost Eintracht Frankfurt €6 million if the club decide to activate the loanee's release clause.
Luka Jovic became Eintracht Frankfurt's hero on Wednesday as he sent the club into the DfB-Pokal final with a wonderful backheel goal in the 1-0 win over Schalke 04.
The Serbian striker, who is on loan from Benfica until the summer of 2019, has been on-fire lately and has netted five times in his last six matches.
Jovic has evolved into a fan favourite at the Commerzbank-Arena, and Frankfurt may want to sign him on a permanent deal. In that case, according to Bild, it will only cost €6 million to activate the release clause in his loan deal.
Eintracht Frankfurt coach Niko Kovac, who will take over as head coach at Bayern München in the summer, encourages the club to sign Jovic on a permanent deal.
"Of course he can be signed permanently, and that's what the club should do," he told Bild after the win over Schalke.
Jovic has scored nine goals in 24 appearances for Eintracht Frankfurt this season.
