Nagelsmann sounds the alarm: "We have a lot of work to do"

Speaking after Tuesday's 2-0 defeat to Austria, Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann acknowledged that he and his team have a lot of work to do ahead of the Euros.
Julian Nagelsmann sounded the alarm after Germany lost 2-0 to Austria on Tuesday night, falling to their second defeat in four days.

With just around seven months to go until Germany play in the European Championship on home soil, there's currently not much reason for Nagelsmann and his team to be upbeat.

"We have a lot of work ahead of us," Nagelsmann stressed in a post-match interview on German television.

"We have to accept the situation and not fall into the role of victim. We have to take further steps. There is an incredible amount of work to be done in every position. It will not be easy," he added.

According to the Germany coach, a lack of confidence and togetherness on the pitch are some of the factors currently preventing the team from performing at the level they're capable of.

"This is a team that has a great talent for playing football. To bring that quality to the pitch, we need to show more dynamism," he said.

"When the ball rolls, we are individual fighters and not the unit we are off the field."
