Report: Bremen submit offer for Japan national team midfielder Kaishu Shano

The ongoing 2023 AFC Asian Continental Championship may be about to produce its first new Bundesliga arrival, according to Japanese sporting publication "Sports Hochi".
The Japanese national team's ranks of Bundesliga professionals may be preparing to increase by one. A report appearing in Japanese sporting publication "Sports Hochi" claims that SV Werder Bremen have already submitted an offer for Kashima Antlers defensive midfielder Kaishu Sano. Werder Bremen sporting director Frank Baumann is on record as saying that his club remains focused on shoring up the roster in two specific areas this January.

Baumann told Bremen's "Deichstube" fan-site at the beginning of the current January transfer window that he and his team would be seeking both a central defender and a defensive midfielder. Baumann - who will be vacating his post after the current window concludes - absolutely put his money where his mouth was with the recent signing of Argentine center back Julian Maltini. A move for the current AFC Cup representative would make sense.

The Japanese source claims that Sano fancies a move to Europe and can easily be enticed by Werder's offer. The 23-year-old featured as a substitute in the national team's opening group stage win against Vietnam, yet remained on the bench during the loss against Iraq in the second group stage fixture. He maintains a current estimated market worth of €1 million in the latest transfermarkt listings.
