Schalke 04 keeper Alexander Nübel has attracted interest from Bayern München, Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain, Sport Bild understands.

'The Royal Blues' are doing all they can to hold on to Nübel, whose contract runs until 2020, but the 22-year-old isn't willing to discuss a contract extension at the moment.

Instead, Nübel wants to bide his time. The young goalkeeper is set to represent Germany at the Under-21 European Championship in Italy in June and knows that he can make a bigger name for himself and strengthen his position in the negotiations with Schalke if he does well.

Schalke 04 head of sport Jochen Schneider believes it would make sense for Nübel to stay at Veltins-Arena.

"There are plenty of arguments in favor of Schalke 04. Alexander knows the environment, he plays here, has developed well with us, he knows our goalkeeping coach, Simon Henzler, and his colleagues. And we're going to play a different kind of football next season," he told Sport Bild.

Last month, Nübel's agent, Stefan Backs, fueled speculation about his client's future, telling Sport1:

"Schalke could have talked to us for months and haven't done so - and that's their right. It's the wrong time for us [to talk about a contract extension] at the moment - and that's our right."

Nübel has made 21 appearances for Schalke 04 this season.
