Augustinsson hints at move away from Werder

Werder Bremen defender Ludwig Augustinsson has addressed speculation over his future at Weserstadion.
Ludwig Augustinsson has hinted at a move away from Werder Bremen following the club's relegation from the Bundesliga.

At a press conference, the 27-year-old admitted his ambitions go beyond playing in the 2. Bundesliga.

"Of course. I always want to play in one of the top leagues and at the highest level. And I think I will in many years to come," said Augustinsson, who is part of Sweden's Euro 2020 squad.

"There has been speculation about my future during my entire spell at Bremen. But I'll save all this for after the Euros. My agent, Hasan [Cetinkaya], will deal with this."

Augustinsson joined Werder from FC Copenhagen in January 2017. His contact expires in the summer of 2022.
