Official: Augsburg and Gumny go separate ways

The once highly-rated talent never truly fulfilled his potential at the Bavarian side.

FC Augsburg have confirmed via social media post that they will be parting ways with Robert Gumny this summer.

The Bundesliga club has announced that the 27-year-old right-back's expiring contract will not be extended.

The Polish full-back moved from his hometown of Lech Poznan to Augsburg in 2020 and completed five years at the Bundesliga club.

In total, Gumny played 101 Bundesliga matches for the Fuggerstadters, while also making five DFB Pokal appearances.

Last season, the defender struggled for game time and partook in only seven matches, largely due to reoccurring injuries.
