For months, Bayern Munich have been in talks with Dayot Upamecano over a potential contract extension beyond the summer.
With the French defender weighing up the latest offer from the club, CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen has now issued an ultimatum.
“‘Upa’ has an offer from us, which we have even improved. This has already been discussed multiple times with his agents and now again with him personally,” Dreesen told t-online.de.
According to reports, another meeting between the player and the club recently took place, but no agreement has yet been reached, with the sticking point said to be Upamecano’s release clause demands.
“We have made him an extraordinary offer because he has played very well over the past one and a half years. I believe that what he has on the table now is what he should sign. It won’t get any better,” Dreesen emphasised.
"This shouldn’t drag on any longer. I just don’t want to give an exact date because it will appear somewhere tomorrow.
"We really won’t put up with any nonsense. If you chew gum for too long, the taste eventually disappears. That’s why this shouldn’t drag on like chewing gum."
