UPDATE: According to Sky Germany, RB Leipzig have moved ahead of Bayer Leverkusen in the race and now look set to sign Bakayoko instead.

Bayer Leverkusen appear to be on the verge of finalizing the signing of Johan Bakayoko from PSV Eindhoven.

Following reports over the weekend that Die Werkself are leading the race to secure Bakayoko’s signature, the two clubs are close to agreeing on a fee in the region of €20 million.

With the deal nearing completion, the Belgian winger was absent from PSV’s training session on Monday, according to transfer journalist Sacha Tavolieri.

Leverkusen have already signed one attacking player from PSV this summer in Malik Tillman.

Bakayoko, 22, has been with PSV since 2019 and has one year remaining on his contract.
