Fortuna Düsseldorf are hoping to sign Jordi Paulina from Borussia Dortmund's U-23 side when the January transfer window opens.

New head of sport Sven Mislintat appreciates the 21-year-old's qualities, according to a report from Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg.

More unnamed teams from Germany and further abroad are keen on the talented striker who is ready to take the next step in his career.

Paulina’s development has been heavily influenced by Ingo Preuß, who is considered a key figure in his progress.

A major ambition for Paulina is to feature at the World Cup with Curaçao. His agent Makram Naceur declined to discuss details with Sky.

So far this season in the Regionalliga West, the 1.91m tall marksman has played 11 games while providing 7 goals and a solitary assist.

Düsseldorf have already been busy ahead of the transfer market opening in January – Satoshi Tanaka is also set to join for €1million.
