It’s safe to say that Borussia Dortmund are heavily reliant on Serhou Guirassy, who scored an impressive 38 goals in his debut season at the club.

Should the Guinea international suffer an injury, Dortmund would currently struggle to compensate for his absence, which is why they're on the lookout for a backup striker.

According to L’Équipe, the Bundesliga side have found a candidate in France, with the report claiming that Dortmund have held talks to sign Idrissa Gueye from FC Metz.

Metz are reportedly demanding €15 million for the 18-year-old Senegalese forward, who has also drawn interest from Manchester United, West Ham, Southampton, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Parma.

Gueye scored five goals in 18 appearances for Metz in Ligue 2 last season, helping the club earn promotion.
