Borussia Dortmund suffered an injury blow on Sunday, as young centre-back Filippo Mané was forced off with a thigh injury.

The 20-year-old was expected to take on a bigger role after Chelsea recalled Aaron Anselmino from his loan prematurely, but his injury leaves BVB considering bringing in a replacement before the transfer window closes on Monday.

“It didn’t look good for Mané. It will take longer than just a week,” said BVB sporting director Sebastian Kehl after Sunday’s game.

"If he hadn’t gotten injured, we wouldn’t have done anything else in the transfer market. We’ll wait for the examination tomorrow (Monday), but we still have to handle the situation responsibly."

Dortmund have yet to make any signings during the winter transfer window.
