Borussia Mönchengladbach’s Jonas Omlin has joined Bayer Leverkusen on loan for the remainder of the season.

"Jonas Omlin is an internationally experienced goalkeeper who has proven his quality time and again at clubs in Switzerland, France, and the Bundesliga," said Bayer 04 managing director for sport Simon Rolfes.

An injury to first-choice goalkeeper Mark Flekken led Die Werkself to strengthen their squad with the signing of the Swiss shot-stopper.

"Following Mark’s injury, Jonas completes our trio of goalkeepers. With him, Janis Blaswich and Niklas Lomb, we are once again well equipped for the challenges of the coming weeks and months," Rolfes added.

Omlin, who has been the second-choice goalkeeper at Borussia Mönchengladbach behind Moritz Nicolas this season, said:

"I’m delighted that a club like Bayer 04 Leverkusen is putting its trust in me. A Champions League club with great ambitions it’s a fantastic opportunity to support my new team and contribute to achieving the goals we’ve set."
