Musiala to miss Germany's Nations League Final Four tournament

Kicker reports that Jamal Musiala will not be included in Germany's squad for the UEFA Nations League Final Four tournament in June.

Earlier this month, Jamal Musiala shared an update on his recovery, expressing hope of making Germany’s squad for the UEFA Nations League Final Four tournament in June.

The Bayern Munich star is back in training after recovering from the torn muscle bundle in his thigh sustained in April and could, at the very least, be an option off the bench for the tournament.

However, according to Kicker, Germany head coach Julian Nagelsmann has decided to leave Musiala out of the squad following a request from Bayern Munich board member for sport Max Eberl in order to prioritize the player's long-term fitness.

Kicker also reports that the tournament comes too early for Antonio Rüdiger, who is still working his way back after knee surgery.

Kai Havertz (Arsenal) and Marc-André ter Stegen (Barcelona) may also miss out, with both players only recently returning from injury and still regaining full match fitness.

Germany face Portugal on June 4, with Spain and France meeting in the other semi-final the following day.
