Ole Werner has been relieved of his duties by RB Leipzig with immediate effect.
His assistant coaches Tom Cichon and Patrick Kohlmann have also been dismissed by the Saxony-based outfit.
Sky Germany notes that this decision was part of a clear plan behind the scenes in Leipzig for several weeks.
A decision over the 38-year-old's future was made by the board centred around Oliver Mintzlaff, Jürgen Klopp and Mario Gomez.
In total, Werner lasted just 351 days in charge of RB Leipzig, guiding them to a third place finish in the Bundesliga last season.
Having previously been heavily rumoured as Werner's replacement, Martin Demichelis is set to become new RB Leipzig head coach.
“Over the past few days, we conducted a thorough and final analysis of the season," said the club's director of sport Marcel Schäfer.
"On Tuesday evening, we decided to appoint a new head coach. We thank Ole, Tom, and Patrick for their work and dedication to RB Leipzig.
"They played a significant role in the successful restructuring and the qualification for the Champions League.
"Nevertheless, we have come to the conclusion that further development and a revised approach are necessary for the challenges ahead.
"We wish Ole, Tom, and Patrick all the very best for their future, both personally and professionally.”
