Manuel Neuer has reportedly agreed to extend his expiring contract with FC Bayern Munich by a further year.

According to Sky Germany, the parties have reached a full agreement on a contract extension until 2027.

The deal is expected to be signed before Bayern’s final game of the season at home against 1. FC Köln on Saturday.

As part of the extension, the 40-year-old goalkeeper has agreed to take a pay cut, with his current salary estimated at around €20 million per year.

Having made 21 appearances this season, Jonas Urbig will remain Bayern’s second-choice goalkeeper and is expected to feature even more next season as the club prepare him to eventually succeed Neuer.

Sven Ulreich is likely to stay on as the third-choice option.
