Wirtz part of a Bayern upheaval in the summer?

Kicker reports that Bayern Munich could be facing a major squad overhaul next season, and Bayer Leverkusen wonderkid Florian Wirtz could be part of it.
Bayern Munich could make "unpopular or surprising decisions" in all areas of the team after the current season, according to Kicker.

The German football magazine reports that all players except veterans Manuel Neuer and Thomas Müller as well as star striker Harry Kane will be "scrutinized and re-evaluated".

One of the players Bayern could look to bring in to reshape their squad is Florian Wirtz, with Kicker suggesting that the German champions could step up their long-standing interest in the 20-year-old in the spring, with a view to making a move in the summer.

Whether such a move is realistic is doubtful, however, as Wirtz is contracted to Leverkusen until 2027, has no release clause and feels very comfortable at the BayArena.

Back in December, Wirtz's father and agent said that "everything points" to the 20-year-old staying in Leverkusen for another season.

About three weeks ago, Bayer Leverkusen CEO Fernando Carro told Bild

"There is always an acceptance limit. But Florian's is not only very, very high financially, but also emotionally - for both sides. We are not thinking of selling him."
