The German Football Association (DFB) is eyeing Jürgen Klopp as Germany coach ahead of the 2026 World Cup, if Julian Nagelsmann steps down after the Euros.

Nagelsmann took over from Hansi Flick in September on a short-term deal until after the European Championship, and it's currently unclear whether he will continue beyond that.

If Nagelsmann does decide to step down, the German Football Association is hoping to convince Jürgen Klopp to take over from March 2025, with current assistant Sandro Wagner seen as a possible caretaker until Klopp is ready, according to Sport Bild.

Klopp has announced that he will leave his post as Liverpool manager at the end of the season and then take a sabbatical.
