Niklas Süle has given an update on his recovery from the long-term knee injury he suffered in October.

The Bayern München defender also suffered a cruciate ligament rupture in 2014 while playing for Hoffenheim, so he knew what to expect from his recovery process.

"Unfortunately, I suffered a similar injury five years ago, so I knew what was coming and how to fight my way back," Süle told Bild and added:

"The training is very monotonous at the beginning. You can't do much because you have six weeks on crutches and have to drag yourself there for five or six hours a day.

"I think I can safely say that I'm a fighter," the centre-back said.

The 24-year-old is unlikely to play again this season.
