Back in January, Pascal Groß opted to leave Borussia Dortmund and return to his former club Brighton & Hove Albion in search of more playing time.
The 34-year-old went on to play an important role in midfield for the Seagulls and, having recently earned a call-up to Germany’s World Cup squad, says he is pleased that he decided to move back to England.
“It was definitely a very good decision,” Groß said in an interview with Kicker, adding:
“I was able to play regularly again, and in the Premier League, plus reaching European competition and now even making the World Cup squad – the best-case scenario I had hoped for with this move has come true.”
Groß also made clear that he is not seeking a summer transfer, but intends to see out his contract with Brighton, which runs for another year.
“Yes, I will definitely continue playing there,” he confirmed.
