'Havertz is the biggest talent I've seen since Toni Kroos'

Bayer Leverkusen coach Heiko Herrlich is very impressed by 19-year-old wonderkid Kai Havertz. In his opinion, he's the most talented player since Toni Kroos.
He may just be 19 years old, but Kai Havertz has already made 64 appearances for Bayer Leverkusen. The offensive midfielder is the youngest player to ever play for 'Die Werkself' in the Bundesliga and the youngest player ever to reach 50 Bundesliga appearances.

In addition to that, the German Football Association announced earlier in the summer that Havertz will receive this year's Fritz Walter Gold Medal - an award handed out to the country's finest talent - in the under-19 category.

Bayer Leverkusen coach Heiko Herrlich is well aware that he has got a special player in Havertz and says he hasn't seen a more talented player since Real Madrid star Toni Kroos.

"He's the biggest talent I've seen since Toni Kroos," Herrlich told DPA and added:

"I thought before the World Cup that such a player could have helped the team and learned something. But I think the national team coach knows exactly what to do and who to call up."

Havertz has played 64 games for Leverkusen with eight goals and 15 assists to his name. His contract with 'Die Werkself' runs until 2022.
