Report: Nastasic transfer finalized for €2-3 million

According to Italian transfer expert Gianluca di Marzio, FC Schalke 04 and ACF Fiorentina have finalized terms for the sale of defender Matija Nastasic.

After initially reporting on a possible deal last Friday, Gianluca di Marzio now claims that Matija Nastasic will definitely be heading back to the Serie A next season. The Italian transfer expert notes that, unlike in recent cases involving midfielder Sebastian Rudy and back-up keeper Markus Schubert, Germany's Königsblauen are actually set to pocket a transfer fee.

Di Marzio speaks of a fee in the €2-3 million range. This may be a fraction of the cost the Bundesliga club paid for the Serbian in 2015, but generates some much needed revenue for the recently relegated Westphalians. Getting an extra salary off the books whilst also acquiring some liquidity is not often possible for an organization in Schalke's position.
