Borussia Mönchengladbach have strengthened their attacking options by securing the loan of 20-year-old Argentine striker Alejo Sarco from Bayer 04 Leverkusen until the end of the season. The deal, confirmed by both clubs, does not include a purchase option.

Sarco, a promising youth international, joined Leverkusen from Vélez Sarsfield last year but has seen limited Bundesliga action, making just a handful of appearances so far. Gladbach sees the loan as a chance for the young striker to gain regular playing time in Germany’s top flight.

“Alejo is a talented, robust and quick forward with a good eye for goal and a strong left foot,” said Gladbach sporting director Rouven Schröder. Bayer Leverkusen’s Simon Rolfes added that the move is designed to help Sarco develop his significant potential through more minutes on the pitch.
