VfB Stuttgart have confirmed the signing of Bayern Munich youth prodigy Frans Krätzig on loan for the coming season.

“Frans has a very interesting profile. We are convinced that he has the footballing skills and the right mentality to make the leap to a Bundesliga player in the long term," said Stuttgart sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth.

“Moreover, he has already gained valuable experience in the professional game at FC Bayern and most recently [on loan] at Austria Vienna.”

Krätzig, a 21-year-old left-back, added:

"VfB offers me the opportunity to develop further, to learn from my teammates under good conditions and also because of my own playing time. That's why I'm here and that's what I want to do."

The youngster made seven appearances for Bayern in the first half of the 2023/24 season. He then joined Austria Vienna on loan in February and went on to play 17 times for them.
