Since 2005, the DFB has awarded the Fritz Walter Medal to Germany's best youth players each season.

Those nominated are intended to serve as role models through their behaviour and quality both on and off the field.

In the U-19 category, the gold medal went to Finn Jeltsch of VfB Stuttgart, who beat second-placed Saïd El Mala of 1. FC Köln.

Max Moerstedt of TSG Hoffenheim rounded out the podium places in third and picked up the bronze award.

At U-17 level, centre forward Alexander Staff of Eintracht Frankfurt was honored with the gold accolade.

Silver and bronze went to Lennart Karl of FC Bayern Munich and Elias Vali Fard of Borussia Mönchengladbach, respectively.
