VfL Wolfsburg vs. FC St. Pauli: Confirmed lineups

In a crucial relegation battle, VfL Wolfsburg (4-3-9, 14th) host FC St. Pauli (3-3-9, 17th) at the Volkswagen Arena in the seventeenth matchround of the 2025/26 Bundesliga season. Kickoff is set for 18:30 (CET) this evening.
Wolfsburg have made just one change in their starting eleven for this match; Yannick Gerhardt takes the place of Mattias Svanberg at CDM, making his first start since the 3-4 defeat to SC Freiburg on 20. December. Despite Mohamed Amoura’s return from the Africa Cup of Nations, Dženan Pejčinović starts at the striker position for the third consecutive match after scoring four times in his last two appearances.
As for St. Pauli, whose match with RB Leipzig was cancelled due to weather conditions over the weekend, they have returned to a 3-5-2 formation after using a 3-3-2-2 against 1. FSV Mainz 05 on 20. December. Hauke Wahl switches to CB from RB, and Adam Dźwigała moves to RB from CB. Louis Oppie and Jackson Irvine will not make the matchday squad as Lars Ritzka and Eric Smith take their places at LM and CM. After the injury to Andréas Hountondji, Ricky Jade-Jones will take his spot as one of the two forwards.
