Anatoliy Trubin speaks after Benfica beat Bayern to top Group C

Benfica goalkeeper Anatoliy Trubin spoke to the media after receiving the player of the match award against FC Bayern München at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.

Anatoliy Trubin spoke to the press after a 1-0 victory against FC Bayern München at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. For Benfica, it was a victory that put them at the top of Group C with a 2-1-0 record and seven points, while FC Bayern finished second, 2-0-1 and six points.

Trubin praised the Bayern squad and the match overall, stating when asked to summarise the team's performance that “it was a good game against an amazing team, so I am very happy - and not only me, but the entire team”. The 23-year-old Ukrainian international goalkeeper added, “We gave it everything to win; you see the weather, it is very hot, so we did our job to go to the next round”.

When asked how he felt after the performance, denying four direct shots on target and facing thirteen with shots off target included, Trubin said to the media, “I am so tired now, so I feel nothing - I just want to rest and feel ready for the next game”.

When asked about who Benfica's preferred opponent would be in the round of sixteen, he said, “I do not know. We focused on Bayern, and now we will see what is next”.

Benfica will face the runner-up of Group B, which is yet to be determined, on Saturday at 16.00 (EDT) / 22.00 (CET) in Charlotte, North Carolina. Meanwhile, for FC Bayern, they know their opponent as they will be facing CR Flamengo twenty-four hours later, at 16.00 (EDT) / 22.00 (CET) on Sunday in Miami.
