RB Leipzig will be without Ridle Baku and could yet lose Johan Bakayoko against Eintracht Frankfurt next Saturday evening.
The Saxony club confirmed that Baku suffered a syndesmosis injury to his left ankle in last Friday's 0-0 draw against Gladbach.
As a result, the German full-back who recently featured for the national team, is expected to be sidelined for 3-4 weeks.
Johan Bakayoko is also an injury concern for Leipzig and is in a race to be fit for Matchday 13 of the Bundesliga this weekend.
The Belgian winger missed Leipzig's 3-1 win over last night's DfB-Pokal opponents 1.FC Magdeburg with a minor muscle problem.
There is hope that the 22-year-old will recover quicker after his midweek rest and could be ready to face the Hessen club in the top-spiel.
However, Ole Werner's list of absentees continues to grow with Timo Werner, Rômulo, Bitshiabu, Kampl and Ouédraogo unavailable.
