Ioannis Masouras is transferring from Omonia Nicosia to 1.FC Nürnberg ahead of the 2026-27 season, the Franconian club confirmed.

The former Greek U-21 star has already established himself at clubs in countries like Poland, Netherlands, Greece, and Kazakhstan.

Now, after making 24 appearances for Cypriot champions Nicosia and contributing five goals, the 29-year-old is moving to Germany.

Last season has also played in the Conference League, where he faced teams including FSV Mainz 05, Rapid Vienna and Dynamo Kyiv.

“With Ioannis, we are gaining a lot of quality at right-back. He has proven his abilities in recent years," said sporting director Joti Chatzialexiou.

"He will not only help us on the pitch with his attacking strength and pace, but we will also benefit from his overall experience in our young dressing room,”
