Shabab Al Ahli Club have confirmed the signing of Sardar Azmoun on a permanent basis from Bayer Leverkusen.

According to Italian transfer market insider Fabrizio Romano, Leverkusen will receive a fee of 5 million for the 29-year-old Iranian international.

Azmoun caused a stir when he didn't show up for a training session after the summer break and was subsequently suspended by Bayer Leverkusen.

The 29-year-old striker joined Leverkusen from Zenit St. Petersburg in January 2022. He spent last season on loan at AS Roma.
