Borussia Dortmund have been linked with a number of players in recent weeks as they continue their search for attacking reinforcements, with Facundo Buonanotte among those to have caught their eye.

However, a transfer for the 20-year-old appears unlikely, with Brighton & Hove Albion demanding €45 million for the Argentine midfielder - a fee that BVB “clearly” consider too high, according to Ruhr Nachrichten.

The report further states that Buonanotte is only seen as an alternative to Dortmund’s primary target, Carney Chukwuemeka.

The Bundesliga club optimistic about bringing the 21-year-old back to Signal Iduna Park, where he spent the second half of last season on loan.

Negotiations are ongoing between Chelsea and Dortmund over a potential transfer, with the Premier League side reportedly asking for a fee in the region of €25 million.
