Dortmund loan midfield talent Wätjen to Bochum

VfL Bochum have officially announced the loan signing of Kjell Wätjen ahead of the upcoming 2025-26 season.
The talented midfielder has been in desperate need of game time having not played a minute for Borussia Dortmund since December.
Moving to the Ruhrstadion should enable the 19-year-old to get valuable experience in the 2.Bundesliga.
"We made a conscious decision to loan Kjell to VfL Bochum – a very ambitious second-division club where he can gain a lot of match practice," explained sporting director Sebastian Kehl.
“Due to the competitive situation in our midfield, the latter would have been difficult for Kjell at BVB in 2025/2026.
"Nevertheless, we continue to believe in him, will closely monitor his performances in our neighbor's jersey, and wish Kjell the greatest possible success,” he added.
