Reports: Emil Højlund opts for Schalke move

Sky Germany and Italian transfer guru Fabrizio Romano are currently reporting that Emil Højlund is set to sign with FC Schalke 04.

The younger sibling of Rasmus Højlund and twin brother of Oscar Højlund (recently signed for Frankfurt) has chosen Schalke over Stuttgart.

Just a few days after his twin brother Oscar signed for Eintracht Frankfurt, Emil Højlund appears to also be headed to German football. Emil was recently linked with a move to German Champions' League representatives VfB Stuttgart, but has evidently opted for the German second division instead. Sky Germany reports that die Königsblauen have lured the 19-year-old to Gelsenkirchen with the promise of more playing time.

The other young twin brother of Danish national team striker Rasmus operates as a center forward as well. Sky reports that Schalke will pay FC Copenhagen approximately €300,000 to acquire the youngster. Emil's new contract with the 2. Bundesliga club will run through 2028. Italian transfer guru Fabrizio Romano currently confirms these details.
