Bayer Leverkusen centre-back Jarell Quansah has been ruled out of England’s upcoming World Cup round of 32 clash with DR Congo.
The defender twisted his ankle during England’s final group-stage victory over Panama and will therefore miss the game.
Chelsea’s Reece James is also set to sit out the match due to a hamstring injury.
Quansah was an unused substitute in England’s first two group-stage games against Croatia and Ghana before starting and playing 63 minutes in the win over Panama.
The game between England and DR Congo is scheduled to kick off at 18:00 CEST on Wednesday.
